ASIL B Conformance for UDS Protocol Stack

January 15th, 2025, Terre Haute, IN – Simma Software, Inc. announced today the launch of

a project to meet the Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL) functional safety requirements for their Unified Diagnostic Services (UDS) software stack.  ASIL is a risk classification system defined by the ISO 26262 standard for the functional safety of road vehicles.  Upon completion of the project, full documentation will be available including a safety plan, software safety analysis report, and traceability metrics.

Simma Software’s UDS protocol stack has been used by its global customers in the automotive market since 2010.  According to JR Simma, the company’s founder and Director of Engineering, “Achieving ASIL B conformance for our UDS software marks an important step in the company’s future plans.  Many Tier 1 suppliers are required to provide functionally safe software solutions to their OEM partners.  We intend to systematically achieve ASIL B certification for the software modules we offer to the marketplace, and increases our ability to provide the type of robust software solutions our customers demand.”
